CLUDEN TO BRIGHOUSE BAY GASLINE

Project Description:

A new 50km gas pipeline between Cluden and Brighouse Bay in Scotland was completed in December 2020. The commissioning of this pipeline completed the full twinning of the two gas interconnectors between Ireland and the UK. The project comprised of a 50km of 900mm diameter high-pressure gas pipeline construction. LCE undertook the role of contractors civil designer for all drainage elements on this project. LCE also carried out design checks and review for portions of the main gas pipeline.

Scope Description:

  • Pre-Construction, Post-Construction, Storm Drainage Design

  • Hydraulic modelling including SuDS features

  • Culvert design

  • Stormwater management designs including settlement pond and check dams

  • Permanent and temporary high-pressure gas pipeline support design

  • Gas pipeline stress analysis review
