Project Description:

Tralorg Windfarm is an 18MW wind farm development in Girvan, Ayreshire, Scotland. The enabling works stage involved creating a new road junction on the B734 and upgrading 2km of access tracks on existing steep terrains, drainage work and ancillary services. LCE was appointed by the Contractor for detailed drainage and civil infrastructure design.

Scope Description:

  • Civil infrastructure designer

  • Drainage design to DMRB Volume 4 Section 2 CG 502 Drainage (formerly HD 49/16)

  • Value engineering

  • Earthworks and road design to enable turbine blade transport vehicles access

  • Temporary and permanent drainage design solutions to meet environmental constraints, including sedimentation ponds
