KNOCK AMAP FOR MET EIREANN

Project Description:

In 2019 Met Eireann rolled out the Aviation Modernisation and Automation Project (AMAP) throughout its stations in Irish airports, including Ireland West Airport Knock (IWAK). The scope of this project was for installation of new civil infrastructure required for the upgrade the airside weather recording instruments. Landside infrastructure included a new utility building. Airside infrastructure comprised of 4km telecommunications services and 2 no. 10m high weather masts with ancillary services. LCE was appointed as the lead civil engineering designer for the project.

Scope Description:

  • Civil and structural design

  • Site investigation scoping, procurement and management

  • Route selection

  • Airside working and compliance with aviation standards

  • Telecoms and power ducting and associated infrastructure design

  • Telecoms, weather and power mast and foundation design

  • Earthworks design

  • Drainage design (incl. SuDS)

  • Procurement under the Capital Works Management Framework  (CWMF)

  • PSDP
